    Mexico

This time we are ready to take off for Mexico this Friday November 7, 2008. 17 days of holidays, that's cool!

    Crete

We left on holiday in Crete from august 3 2008 to august 14 2008. Our holidays were partly disappointing. We made some beautiful excursions, in particular Knossos. The hotel had good and bad things. A splendid sight but parts of the bedrooms are in the course of restoration. And indeed we had a bedroom not renovated yet. But all was correct! Or else, the hotel was located in the middle of nowhere. We had chosen an “all inclusive” formula. We could drink for free from 9.00 am to Midnight and afterwards, finished! Of course I can understand but if we want to go out to drink something, nothing to finds around. Some stores closed at 11.00 pm and a bar which closed at 1.00 am, not better! We travelled by taxi to go to Hersonissos, but at the end it was very expensive! Some problems also with the Tour Operator where we had reserved our holidays but all returned in the order. But fortunately I met Agata and Kamila, two incredible girls from Poland and who work in the hotel for the season. Their smile and their good mood were the most beautiful thing to be seen in Crete! Of course I regret that we couldn’t better know each other but it’s normal because they had a lot of work and we were on holiday. But I hope we will be able to better know each other by exchange of emails and we will become very good friends. You will be always welcome in Belgium where we await you impatiently!

    Hard Roads In Shu

Oh, but it is high and very dangerous!
Such travelling is harder than scaling the blue sky.
...Until two rulers of this region
Pushed their way through in the misty ages,
    Forty-eight thousand years had passed
With nobody arriving across the Qin border.
And the Great White Mountain, westward, still has only a bird's path
Up to the summit of emei Peak --
Which was broken once by an earthquake and there were brave men lost,
Just finishing the stone rungs of their ladder toward heaven.
...High, as on a tall flag, six dragons drive the sun,
While the river, far below, lashes its twisted course.
Such height would be hard going for even a yellow crane,
So pity the poor monkeys who have only paws to use.
The Mountain of Green Clay is formed of many circles-
Each hundred steps, we have to turn nine turns among its mound --
Panting, we brush Orion and pass the Well Star,
Then, holding our chests with our hands and sinking to the ground with a groan,
We wonder if this westward trail will never have an end.
The formidable path ahead grows darker, darker still,
With nothing heard but the call of birds hemmed in by the ancient forest,
    Male birds smoothly wheeling, following the females;
And there come to us the melancholy voices of the cuckoos
Out on the empty mountain, under the lonely moon....
Such travelling is harder than scaling the blue sky.
Even to hear of it turns the cheek pale,
With the highest crag barely a foot below heaven.
Dry pines hang, head down, from the face of the cliffs,
And a thousand plunging cataracts outroar one another
And send through ten thousand valleys a thunder of spinning stones.
With all this danger upon danger,
Why do people come here who live at a safe distance?
...Though Dagger-Tower Pass be firm and grim,
And while one man guards it
    Ten thousand cannot force it,
What if he be not loyal,
But a wolf toward his fellows?
...There are ravenous tigers to fear in the day
And venomous reptiles in the night
With their teeth and their fangs ready
To cut people down like hemp.
Though the City of Silk be delectable, I would rather turn home quickly.
Such travelling is harder than scaling the blue sky....
But I still face westward with a dreary moan.

    黃鶴之飛尚不得, 猿猱欲度愁攀援。
    青泥何盤盤, 百步九折縈巖巒,
    捫參歷井仰脅息, 以手撫膺坐長歎。
    問君西遊何時還? 畏途巉巖不可攀。
    但見悲鳥號古木, 雄飛雌從繞林間;
    又聞子規啼, 夜月愁空山。
    蜀道之難難於上青天!
    使人聽此凋朱顏。
    連峰去天不盈尺, 枯松倒掛倚絕壁。
    飛湍瀑流爭喧豗, 砯崖轉石萬壑雷。
    其險也如此! 嗟爾遠道之人,
    胡為乎來哉? 劍閣崢嶸而崔嵬,
    一夫當關, 萬夫莫開;
    所守或匪親, 化為狼與豺,
    朝避猛虎, 夕避長蛇,
    磨牙吮血, 殺人如麻。
    錦城雖云樂, 不如早還家。
    蜀道之難難於上青天, 側身西望常咨嗟。

    To my new friend

As If To Go Watch The Moon Drowned In The River

At dawn I go to the house where you live,
As I walk in silence with my head hanging and
My sleeves full of clean wind,
    I wonder.
Has the letter I mailed yesterday arrived safely?
Was it read with ease from the first line to the last?
Is the door still locked tight?
Shall I summon a locksmith straight away?
No, that would be a kind of violence.
Would the seemly words becoming at dawn
Be my only hope to cling to him?
With that hope God promised a necklace,
The necklace given only to those
Whose souls have been cleansed with tears ......
The morning dew chilled me as I walked on
Untill at last I stopped before your house.
The alley is silent and the door firmly bolted.
For the three hundred eighty-ninth time I ring the bell.
But no sign of you is to be heared within
    Having taken from my bosom
And placed in the crack of the door
A letter resembling the first snow of winter.
I am gazing up at the sky.

The petals of lotus fill the vast basin.

Secretly, the hairpin of jade is afflicted my age.

The ducks mandarins find refuge in the rain.

I envy only the ducks mandarins and not the fairies.

    jAuRiM - #1

I don’t know what is wrong, what is right.
It makes no difference, they’re the same things.

I don’t know what i can believe, and whom i can trust
There was no way to see, no way to prove that.

Why do I have to wonder and wonder ?
    I don’t know why, I don’t know why, I don’t know why.

I don’t know who my friends are who my enemies are.
They love me some, they cheat me some in the same way

Why do i have to live with them, Why do I love them ?
    I don’t know why, I don’t know why, I don’t know why.

I really wish I could belive in your sweet, sweet lies
I close my eyes and tears are falling
I really wish I could live alone with no one at all
I close my heart and dreams are tumbling

Sing, sing a foolsong. I’m king without a kingdom
LaLaLa I’m mother without a womb for my children
LaLaLaLa I’m lover without a lover
oh- I’m foolish clown of the world
I’m foolish clown of the world

LaLaLaLa I’m king without a kingdom
LaLaLa I’m mother without a womb for my children
LaLaLaLa I’m lover without a lover
oh- I’m foolish clown of the world
I’m foolish clown of the world

I really wish I could belive in your sweet, sweet lies
I close my eyes and tears are falling
I really wish I could live alone with no one at all
I close my heart and dreams are tumbling down.

So, I don’t know what to believe in, whom to rely on

    jAuRiM - oNlY OnE

    I’m not the only one
    Still I need someone
    I’m not the only one

    I’m not the only one
And should I be so strong ?
I’m not the one you want

I know you’re the holy one
    I’m just a dirty worm
    What’s that ? What’s that ?
    I feel shit

    Bring me a knife
Not all the fool makes a scar
Some has no fear some dies
    I feel me going blind
Can you see pale gray eyes ?
    No other days to hide

    Bring me a knife
Not all the fool makes a scar
Some wants more fun some cries
    I feel me going blind
Can you see pale gray eyes ?
    No other days to hide

    I wanna be the one
But I can’t sing the song
    I’m just a lonely one

dEpEcHE mOdE - EnJoY tHe SiLeNcE

    Words like violence
    Break the silence
    Come crashing in
    Into my little world
    Painful to me
    Pierce right through me
    Can't you understand
    Oh my little girl

    All I ever wanted
    All I ever needed
    Is here in my arms
    Words are very unnecessary
    They can only do harm

    Vows are spoken
    To be broken
    Feelings are intense
    Words are trivial
    Pleasures remain
    So does the pain
    Words are meaningless
    And forgettable

    All I ever wanted
    All I ever needed
    Is here in my arms
    Words are very unnecessary
    They can only do harm

Like a demon filled with hatred, a fallen angel opens his veins. How to prevent a misfortune? We can’t. Whether it’s merry or sad, we can only undergo our destiny. How to face our sadness? Is it enough to think only of the rare positive moments of our life and to forget the bad events? Maybe yes ! Maybe no ! But the life continues… To insulate itself, to reflect, not to want to see anybody? Or perhaps to travel, to move, to speak, to see people? Each person faces it with her manner…

When we are sad we are accustomed to reacting in a conditioned way and tend to be submerged by sadness, to identify us with sadness, we can discourage ourselves or be irritated, what increases the capacity and the force of sadness. This is our usual reaction. Sadness is weighed down, is worsened by our reactions and our aversion. That comes from our ignorance.

If we observe sadness attentively, we make it more accessible to our comprehension. We can realize of the great capacity of our practices to react in a certain way. That’s why we must change our negative practices thanks to the practice, because they are like the poisonous ones, they generate much suffering. If we observe even more precisely, we will be able to see our tendency to invest an enormous energy to remove us from sadness, what will make it possible to release us from this tendency.

In general we think, we judge, we react to remove us from this unpleasant feeling which is sadness. In fact this is the total non-acceptance of sadness or the aversion towards sadness. A great quantity of energy is deployed and lost for this desire to get rid some.

"The dragon… A legendary creature? No. He exists. He sleeps… In the heart of the man. The dragon was awaked by accident. The lesion occurred here…In the part of the brain inherited by our reptilian ancestors. The part which controls our emotions and our desire. How can we prevent the animal instinct to explode ?"

"We are all, by nature, wild beasts. Our duty of human beings is to become as these trainers who hold their animals under their cut and even draw up them to make contrary turns with their bestial nature."

    tHe HeLL

"Its a tale of things which are not of this world. A tale on the “Sai No Kawara” (dry bed of the river of souls), the bank of the river where stones are piled up, with the limit of the hell. The concept of hell isn’t specific of Buddhism. Zoroastrism, Christianity, Islam, all these religions place this world after death. In India, this concept was born with the hindouism, dependent on the reincarnation. With the appearance of Buddhism the concept of “Naraka arrived, the hell in Sanskrit, who means “infernal” or “torment".

"Once pulled by this breath without pity, the beautiful youth of the morning is anything else only bones in the twilight. All must die, at the end. Innumerable are the sins made on the way of death.
For these sins, the law envisages punishments. Some can escape its nets, but we cant escape the conscience of our crimes. The religion imagines a world after death, taking care of the punishments in the place of the law. This world is the hell."

"What is polluted by negative mental states produces suffering inevitably"

"All that is conditioned is transitory"

"The moment given by the chance is better than the selected moment"

"To claim to satisfy our desires by the possession, it’s to count that we will choke fire with straw"

"There is not a worse pain to point out the joy in moments of misery…"

    iNtImAtE cOnViCtIoNs PaRt.4

    1) THE TRUTH OF THE SUFFERING
To suffer, “dukka”, is the essential fact of our life. To be born is a pain, to age is a pain, the disease and the physical suffering are pains whose we can’t make abstraction. Union with something which displeases to us, as the separation of something which we like are events which give us suffering. Not to obtain what we wish is a suffering.

    2) THE TRUTH OF THE ORIGIN OF THE SUFFERING
The cause of the suffering is the desire “icçha”, the request “tanhy” or the thirst “trishna” of the sensual pleasures, existence and experiment, fashionable possessions and of being able. The desire attaches us to the cycle of the rebirths, the samsara.

    3) THE TRUTH OF THE SUSPENSION OF THE SUFFERING
The end of the suffering can occur only with the complete suspension of the desire, with the abandonment, renunciation and the detachment of all forms of desires and waitings.

    4) THE TRUTH OF THE WAY WHICH CARRIES OUT AT THE END OF THE SUFFERING
The means to stopping the suffering is the Eightfold Way, "arya ashtanga marga": a right belief, a right thought, a right speech, a right action, a right life, a right effort, a right conscience and a right meditation.

    iNtImAtE cOnViCtIoNs PaRt.3

To know to endure one moment of anger, it’s to save itself one century of regrets. That which praises too high his success, sharpen already the instrument of his loss. The origin of the pain is in thirst, appetites, passions: thirst for pleasure (desires), of existence, of inexistence. When the mind is free, all is free around you.

"My sky was too low and my territory was too narrow. Then, I became a wind"

The adversity is only one mountain to be crossed, a simple mountain!

And if we are afraid to beat us or die, we will always run after a stronger adversary.

    iNtImAtE cOnViCtIoNs PaRt.2

The pleasure is the beginning and the end of a happy life.

"I was furious to have no shoes: then I met a man who didn’t have feet and I was happy with my fate"

There are 3 kinds of people with who it’s useful to bind friendship: right people, sincere people and people who learned much. Save until the least moments: one moment of time is a gold piece.

    iNtImAtE cOnViCtIoNs PaRt.1

You don’t occupy of the faults of others, nor their acts, nor of their negligences. Be rather conscious of your clean acts and your own negligences.

Misery and the suffering are the work of the man himself; concentration of his desire on what is undesirable, transitory and material, is the cause of any despair, hatred and competition, and the reason for which the man lives in the kingdom of death, the kingdom of the physical existence, who is the true death of the mind.
The hell doesn’t exist in a particular place, but in the life of people.

An action isn’t well made, when, being made, we repent ourselves some afterwards, and we mature his fruit, crying, the face full with tears.
An action is well made, when, being made, we don’t repent afterwards, and we mature his fruit, with joy and pleasure.

We must believe in a writing, a doctrine or an assertion when our reason and our experiment intimate confirm them. This is why you should not simply believe according to what was said to you, but in accordance with your personal experiment, and then to act consequently and liberally.
